What you will do:
- Ensure that manufacturing processes consistently achieve defined performance targets, including OEE (>85%) and scrap rates (<3%)
- Take full ownership of manufacturing engineering processes and drive continuous optimization of efficiency, quality, and cost
- Lead, develop, and structure the local engineering team within a global and local matrix organization
- Drive value analysis/value engineering (VA/VE) and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g. 5S)
- Ensure consistent application of lean manufacturing methods (Gemba Walks, Kaizen, Muda, 5S, 4M)
- Implement Design for Manufacturing and Assembly (DFM/DFA) principles
- Ensure maturity control through verification of results and deliverables
- Plan and manage resources (people and equipment) and ensure optimal capacity utilization
- Define and implement engineering KPIs, standards, and procedures
- Design and optimize value streams, material flows, and plant layouts
- Ensure creation and maintenance of process documentation (PFC, Control Plans, PFMEA, VSM, Work Instructions)
- Lead audit preparation and ensure compliance with standards such as VDA 6.3
- Ensure execution of capability studies (R&R) to validate processes and throughput
- Oversee prototype, sample, and spare parts production
- Act as escalation point for engineering topics and align with regional and global stakeholders
- Ensure effective communication and adherence to escalation processes
- Delegate tasks and empower team members with clear accountability
- Drive people development including career paths, training and onboarding
- Foster a high-performance culture and strong team collaboration
- Establish cooperation with universities and external partners
- Ensure compliance with environmental, health, and safety standards
What convinces us:
- Master’s degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a comparable field
- More than 10 years of professional experience in manufacturing engineering
- Experience in harness manufacturing or similar high-volume production environments
- Proven leadership experience in managing engineering teams
- Strong expertise in manufacturing processes and continuous improvement methods
- Experience with automotive standards (e.g. VDA 6.3)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Experience in matrix organizations and international environments
- Fluent in Arabic (native level), English (business fluent), French is a plus
